This RoomA Poem by NatalieAnother restless night
leaves me sitting up for the third time. I’m tangled up inside
myself and I find searching in a dark
room, Will only find the dark. But the furniture’s all
rearrange and when I turn my head to the right
the bare floor Stretches farther than
wanted to. The back of my hand sinks
into a semi-flat pillow as I Follow my left arm
reaching… I run my hand across the
array of different textures hanging on the wall. The edges are rounded and
wearing themselves out, Pointing towards the chalky
lines Imprinted on the surface, Each one is different. My bed has landed in 180
degreed lines So I’ll sleep straight
tonight But these eyes aren’t gonna
shut. This night this room is
darker than before. But that just might be
because there’s Curtains on every window. This night this room is
darker than before. But that just might be because
the Tears may not flow anymore.
