Thinking in Words

Thinking in Words

A Poem by Gerald Parker

When does this poem

become a poem?

Is it when these words

explode in your mind,

sending dust flying in all directions,

creating gods and myths,

and engraving space

with sound, movement and colour;

when sound is

the music of the spheres,

movement is

careering through time,

and colour is feeling alive

with less than a second

in expanding eternity

for thinking in words?

.

Equally as well to ruminate on when does a poet become a poet. Not very many today, put pen to paper; (excluding the let it all out inner angst brigade,) which I take little heed of.

Perhaps, as your line 'for thinking in words,' submits, we are all poets in our minds.

Beccy.
