Inner City Escape

Inner City Escape

A Poem by linear

I watched the faces of the world pass me by today

some sad, some smiling others blank

fat, thin and many colours.

Life is like that

filled with many hopes

dreams and dissapointments

Over and over my thoughts tumbled

wondering about their hurrying

going to work, going home or to play

Venting anger at immobile objects

that seem to get in the way

they overcome

Early mornings are so often like this in the city

people with their plans

rushing to be happy

trying to forget to be sad

thinking will I get laid today.

really acutely observed.... I've seen this, I've been this..... and it's like dying a little more inside every day.. but I wonder why they don't feel the same.. the people beside you doing the same thing, and then one day you hear someone on another floor has committed suicide.. he was depressed or something, from what I wonder. bukowski saw those things too, so what do we do.

Do? We do nothing.......then we write, what else is there?
now "laid" here is not the "laid" that usually comes to mind.
