The Last LeafA Poem by linearEmotionsWhen autumn winds blow cold and hard tugging pulling as the last leaf holds on to the last of summers promise
A promise never quite realised never quite fulfilled
She whispered so many sweet things of fragrances new of delights not yet tasted
She swirls inside body and soul almost begging to take hold
Even the many showers could not dampen the spirit a spirit more than ready to soar up and reach the sky
But the days draw on as shadows grow long and the final leaf fell sounding out a silent death knell
For the leaf had fallen giving in to winters first gale. © 2012 linearAuthor's Note
