Defiled - Prologue

Nick’s mind finally kicked into gear as he was pulled back to reality by Austin.

                “Dude, what’s the plan?”  Austin asked.  So trusting, so relying. 

                His mind had finally digested the situation and quickly got to work.  They’d find them anytime now.  Everyone’s main goal, their only aim, was to prevent Rachel from being culled into the clutches of the bad guy. It was inevitable Lauren was next, so she was also protected.

                Nick wished only for the horror to be a nightmare and gone when his alarm hit 6:30 a.m.  But, wishing was just distracting.  Hoping and praying was where the imagination was allowed.  Then he could hear them, he could hear them coming for him; him, one of the two that had the audacity to defy them.  And although it seemed worth it at the time, Nick wished he could take it all back…
