Chapter 2 - Excitement

this is really short, just telling the readers a little more on Laurens personality

Chapter 2

 

Gosh!  I can’t wait until Wednesday!”  Lauren exhaled when the bell rang at school. “

“Lauren, cool it!  You’ve been going on about it all day.”  Lisey was exasperated.

                “I know, but aren’t you excited?!”

                “Sure.  Usually I don’t get excited about this kind of stuff, until that day I’m supposed to be excited about.”

                Lauren shook her head.  “I pity you.  It’s not fun to lose your childish excitement and imagination!”  She started to skip and swing her arms.

                “Boy, am I heart-broken, and stop doing that!” 

                Lauren skipped over to the vending machines. “Here,” Lisey handed her a dollar.  “The usual.”  Lisey continued on into the lunchroom, while Lauren bought herself a diet and Lisey a coke.  Lauren walked into the lunchroom and sat down next to Sam. 

                “Your coke.”  She handed the soda to Lisey.

                “Your pizza.”  Lisey handed the tray to Lauren.

                Sam shook his head.  “You chicks are weird.”

                “Thanks.”

                “That wasn’t a comment.”  He murmured.

                 “So…”  She drum rolled.  “Is everyone as excited as I am?!”  She clashed the symbol.

                She got a yes-squeal from Jamie, a “sure” from Daniel, and another “sure” from Sam.
