Hidden RemindersA Poem by Mell
I bit the inside of my mouth twice in the last hour, Sometimes I can’t help it. My teeth seem clumsy, But my lips hold them back. So within my jaw they wait for a chance to strike again. To leave scars, constant reminders. Indentations of past mistakes. Wounds that cannot ever truly heal, They are the best kind. I woke up yesterday and oh, the pain. I woke up today and oh, the guilt. I’ll wake up tomorrow and be somewhere unrecognizable © 2008 Mell |
