Cold bed

Cold bed

A Poem by Mell

Sleeping is always a problem,

I can toss and turn for hours.

The moon above my head, it begs,

but I shout for it to end.

My pillows aren't quite soft enough,

the blankets, they make me hot.

My eyes can't let me see too far,

and my toes are cold again.

If I could feel your warmth.

If I could see your smile.

Maybe I could rest peacefully,

but your absence makes me squirm.

Makes me afraid.

Makes me tremble.

My quivering lips can't keep steady,

but you told me...I'm better off alone.

A beautifully simple piece about a sleepless night and the person responsible.

This can relate to many, I'm sure. Good write, and I especially liked the last two lines.
