Mr. Con & His Monkey Wife

I just came up with this. It started as a poem, but I turned them into lyrics. This is the poem form. It basically describes anguish after being told something that you can't tell anyone else.

i remember your words

they flew out like birds

do you know what you said

would you live it out for dead

and did you even think

the poison came from the sink

you have a taste for fine wine

now there's poison in your drink

break the ground

let the demons out

save me now

please save me now

time pauses now 

we barely move at all

looking up to the night

as we watch stars fall

we broke for today

there's a silence in the room

cause most know the secret

but don't know what to do

and God, if you're up there

please send help quickly

I've been praying so much

for all of my friends

the darkness around

it makes a rough route

it's a damn long road

i don't know where it ends

looking for the light

with a moon in the sky

will it all end tonight

or will we survive

Please ignore spelling mistakes and lack of punctuation. I wrote this on the spot, and I feel punctuation in poetry (unless used for exaggeration) makes my writing too concrete.
