the In-Between

the In-Between

A Poem by Meliss@k

sometimes
life doesn’t seem real,
a déjà vu
of clarity and confusion...

a blended mixture of emptiness and fullness
while an orchestra
of crashes and silence
break-up the in-betweens

How can the sky be cloudy, and the sun still shine through?
How is the ground so dry, while digging up, a moistened root?

....a walk through the forest,
animal prints leading the way
while our foot tracks follow,
and the wind blows them away...

a high-five,
a hug, a kiss to remember

a curse,
a sly look, a life filled with slander

It’s almost like, life-occurrences, aren’t truly physically fathomable

momentarily living, frozen, between an internal existence and external collateral...

neither black nor white,
a grey line, somehow
still described as color

these moments;
rare
to the eye,
yet, every day occurrences;
missing pieces in each of us
-temporarily-
feeling connected

...connected to good
or connected to the other-
either way, connected still,
to a realm beyond ourselves
beyond anything we can understand
beyond anything we could
imagine...

... Look around for a second.
....Try not to think....
... take a moment to breathe.

.Inhale.

...do you feel it?

Many have likened life to a dream. It can seem fleeting and full of contradictions and opposites. In the end, the only reality is the present moment, but that can contain more than we ever dreamed.
