Evolutions ImpactA Poem by Meliss@kHow the world changed us, but we can choose to -instead- change the world
Did you know
Shooting stars could turn green, Then red? Did you know Bluebonnets could fade Purple? Not all snakes are bad Not all grass is good Did you know There's boots for the rain There's boots when it's dry Did you know A coyote's howl at the moon Doesn't sound like a cry? I learned to listen To the crisp whispers Of the ground as I walk. I learned to differentiate A pond from a tank, I learned to close my eyes And feel a horse's stride, I learned to clean my first dove And I cried. Did you know Weather changes a horse's mood? Did you know Your own back yard Could produce vegitation? food? Not many know... Not many want to... Not many know how to see... But once you know, You begin to want, You are blind no more From the secrets The freedom The things You can't always see. What used to be the night Transforms into a ballet of dancing star light What used to be a tree Turns into Shade, protection, A beautiful painting. A picture. A memory. I challenge you to learn, Just as I have learned, Learn to smell the roses. Take in every color, Every scent, Every feel. Taste the air around you. Feed on the colors of the wind And for a second Forget Forget the beginning The beginning from when Beautiful innocence Became sin. © 2016 Meliss@k |
