Snowflaked SkiesA Poem by Meliss@kWhile traveling from Texas to Colorado during the spring, I wrote this poem to record everything I had seen.
Around. All around.
Not a sound beyond the chorus of nature's instruments. Green oceans; their currents and tides fan to and fro, to and fro. Warm, white, fluffs, of soft clouds sprout Clothing, the amber-cocoa soils. Towers of yellow-green flames listen with their sensitive, Paper-petaled ears, letting their bodies sway over here, over there, With the musical harmony of the coughing wind. To the right, Now to the left; never ending rays of tall, gold, sphere-shaped cones, Jacketed in wiry green leaves, stand in symmetrical lines. Speed bump gutters, newly plowed, Gasp for the sun and rain While seeds stay tucked underneath Intoxicated by solar powered sleep. Traveling down a yellow-striped road With not a sound beyond the chorus of nature's instruments, The shoes of our journeying machine have only ventured a few hundred miles. As this compacted box Goes round Goes round, Farther into the future, we anticipate the moment
When our cemented feet Walk atop snow pillowed heaps Created by the soft, cold, melody Falling from snowflaked skies. © 2016 Meliss@kReviews
