Such a Mystery

Such a Mystery

A Poem by Meliss@k
"

Curious for love but learning to be content and grateful for the present...

"
Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath.

Nothing is wrong,
So what have I to fret?
Blessed beyond measure with family and friends,
Christ as my Lord,

I open my eyes again.
Joyful for life and grateful for grace,
Yet sometimes I wonder
About your handsome embrace.
When will we meet,
and how will it be,
As we say our first hellos?
Will it take a handful of fellows,
Or will we know? we'll just know?

It's easy to be curious and easy to want more
but almost always it's hard to believe
That there's one specific door.

We go through our lives opening and closing,
Slamming and quietly shutting.
We enter and exit through doors of all shapes
Doors of all sizes.
By now you'd think you'd been through them all,
then straight out of nowhere you're handed a hall.
Halls can be narrow,
Wide, short, and tall
Halls can have walls, windows, doors
All in all,
Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath.

Why are we so curious
About someone we've never met?
It's all such a mystery-
What door is next in life
(Or what his eye color is like)

Realize this though,
Our true purpose- is to fight The Good Fight

Whether I meet him on earth
Or dance beside him in heaven,
I'm reminded that Christ is my Father
Who Never Fails Nor Forsakens.

Closing my eyes
I take a deep breath.

Why do we make life so hard? (wanting more...)

i must consider 'tis poetry certainly one of my favourites. so many realistic things have you licked in such simplistic words. love's more like enigma but the purpose of our life's more enigmatic. and in b/w that all, we're all being loosen in " SUCH A MYSTERY". wonderful imagery here. enjoyed reading it!

Thank you so much for your kind and true words, Adams
I often think the thoughts that you have
expressed here. With me the fork in the road
is where we either choose right or left and go
wrong.
How many times we have come to that fork in
the road and we must decide, choose what we
know or gamble on a mystery ?

You have expressed it so very well.
Thank you
