Not the Same Girl

Not the Same Girl

A Poem by Lissa

I'm not the same girl

who stood in the rain,

tears falling down my face.

Not the same girl

who looked in the mirror,

wanting nothing but to disappear.

I took a breath,

I took some time.

I took a chance,

and tried to find,

these wings

of mine.

A whisper told me

"find out who you are."

I closed my eyes,

and reached for the stars.

I came back with a hand

full of comets' dust,

sparkling in my grasp.

I took a breath,

I took some time.

I took a chance,

and tried to find,

these wings

of mine.

The next storm will come,

though when, I don't know.

This time I will dance,

'cause sometimes we must let go.
