ClosedA Poem by MelindaNo, it is not literally about a door, use your imagination people!!
I don't want to open the door
I try not to go in, there is a mess Fear, memories tempt & I might try to open it And the mess will pour out The room beyond it, is cluttered high The door, pressured by its weight The thought chills me at times I try not to think... Oh, at night, I lay, attempt sleep The door pry's at my mind Hinges ready, prepared to burst and overcome all the previous thoughts, with mess Mess, that was shoved away Many years ago, throughout Useless, pointless memoirs Reflecting my life before clean My eyes finally settle, rest My mind dances within the world of dreams But, oh, the door appears, my mind rapt Beyond it I hear surreptitious memories, crawl Crawl through under the door Screaming my name! "Open Me" Oh, the horrid sound, silence Drawing me to the door I can't, but I must All of life cannot be shut out Ah, the temptation, the knob Glistening, ready to be touched after years I try to recall the contents Tests, sickness, cries Oh, it pains me to think Failure, success, the lost, anger And somewhere....I see You © 2010 Melinda |
