Together Forever

Together Forever

A Poem by Melinda
"

This started out as a 3 line poem that I simply gave up on, but i found it in my drawer and inspiration hit, so here is the completed, revised version

"

Together forever,

Written in red

While the clothes of another

Lay next to her bed

His ring in the drawer,

Out of sight

A hickey on his neck

To remind him of that night

The girl makes a retreat

As the wife returns home

To find a jacket on the loveseat

But her husband alone

He tries to explain

He tries to deny

He’s lying She knows

He can see it in her eyes

‘Baby, forgive me

I know I've done wrong’

‘How could you do this?

You’ve been lying all along’

He takes a step forward,

While she steps back

She screams, he pleads

‘Baby relax’

Next thing he sees

Is her ring on the floor

Tears fall down his face

While the love of his life walks out the door
