Sylvester

Sylvester

A Poem by Melinda

Tall and limber

Skin so dark

His 40 years of living

have left their mark

His glasses glimmer

as he turns the wheel

None of these kids

know how he feels

Here he is driving a bus

Latinos in the back making a fuss

If only he could go back 13 years

Conquer his lifes worst fears

His early years

Lost his wife in a fire

his 4 year old daughter

Hospitalized, they pulled the wire

His girlfriend

cheated behind his back

Gave her another chance

She repeated the same act

Now look at him

in his hum-drum life

hiding the secrets

of his past life

Scrubbing toilets, cleaning floors

That's his life

What does he have to lose

He's Sylevester

     And

Sylvester is all he's got

WOW! A great poem you have written here. It has amazing description and you really told a story. A sad one. I can feel the emotions and I feel bad for poor Sylvester. But anyway, great job.
