His Daughter

His Daughter

A Poem by Mel Lisa
"

Based on story of when I was taken from my loving father as a baby. We have been reunited for a few months now!

"

When Love was taken from his harms...

a warm safe place, it left a hole in two hearts

visibly scarred and broken in parts.

When Love was taken from his harms...

it left no keepsake and a story untold.

Not a memory to neglect, she was just a few months old.

Did she weep endlessly or cooed quietly?

A baby that vanished, a father too famished?

When Love was ripped from his harms...

he became a stranger an unfamiliar.

No wrinkles to smooth, age only left him silver.

Then a love salvaged a faceless image without tarnish.

As days made them older, her desire grew bolder.

A father with eyes soft and tender

longed for his

little girl with the same splendor.

And time soothed,

and fate only proved...

You can’t  keep a father away from his daughter.
