Why So Few Know Of YouA Poem by Mel Lisastory within a poem,Where did you come from? A place no one desires to be How did you get there? It wasn’t my choice, but it was chosen for me Who did you know there? They wore many
masks I couldn’t tell you What do you mean? They would say they love you then turn their back on you They would be your friend then tarnish your name...lie on
you. They would make you their sacrifice to save themselves They would smile at you then try to break you. How many were there? Too many to count, the scars would let you
know. How did you escape? I grew stronger, wiser and more resilient Where are you now? In a safe place… it is warm here, there is love here. Would you ever go back? Only to see how far I have come Why so few know of you? While my name roll off your bitter tongue and drip from your salty mouths While it spread like wild fire through your homes even knocking on
your neighbor’s doors. I saw you then and changed the course Never saw your faces but your names… I kept records. One by one I wrote your case and waited for time, I didn’t need to haste... But that was revenge enticing me on I was rescued in that place, told that Holding on to past
lives only weaken the bond I reestablished who I was created to be I reestablished the ability to let go I was given a gift, behind deceptions...I could see
It
drove them into madness each time and the faces…I have matched with names… from many I disconnect to avoid a crime. So you ask me Why so few know of you? Because only a few I know to be true. © 2015 Mel LisaAuthor's Note
