The Devourer

The Devourer

A Poem by Mel Lisa
"

An Old Favorite Of Mine. Described Someone From The Past

"

Who are you to use people for your own selfish gains?

You didnt purchase them, they are not items for display,

to be included in your frivolous masquerade,

in your twisted world of play.

They are not to be viewed as your property.

Wearing them like an accessory?

Your styling in front of your "peoples"?

They falling for all those fables?

That's even sadder. True example of what they say;

birds of a feather flock together.

Then you talk about "real" and "honest"

and all that hypocrisy you speak?

love every one you meet?

That mask you wear aint tight enough,

displaying all types of faces,

you just gotta be the stuff?

Then you speak love, you dont know the meaning.

Trying to maintain a false appearance, just schemeing.

Keeping up an image, asking them "how do I look?"

how many you have conquered in your days,

displayed your little black book?

Getting all you can by throwing tantrums,

your well versed they say your smart but I gather,

you suffer from deliriums.

Making demands,as if your the soldier in command.

Standing proud, smirking and laughing for the crowd.

You can win the hearts of many, and gain plenty

But In these times you will meet your end,

and they all will turn their backs on you then.

Your losing control and all power...so I ponder...

whose next on your list to devour?
