The Mourning ( Sorrow of a Lost Love)

The Mourning ( Sorrow of a Lost Love)

A Poem by Mel Lisa
"

Poem written from perspective of a writer who has lost his love

"

In a sense of commonalities, he has  grown too use to this. It is

breathing her in to live...entering death's bliss.

Trying to replace that scent, lingered

on lips...the stale of a kiss.

"I take my fill but the spirit condemns me still.

To love and be loved is now a fictional tale with a tragic ending.

To look upon her words escape me, she was fair and quiet cunning.

Bound to memory's chains, yet her thoughts of me now remains amiss.

I touch her pale cold hands, how do one maintain?

I longed for a second chance or at lease...the first again.

When I looked into her eyes, now lifeless...I see no purpose.

I occupied that place in her heart...now vacated, no longer chosen.

No more exchanging words of love... her lips are frozen.

Although she remained still, cold and

motionless, drifting against the currents...my heart persisted

for this angel that once existed.

And I arise at the artic nights, as the light of the moon seizes

only to relive death, shredding my heart to pieces.

This murderous icy current, that has taken my delicate love.

These thoughts consumes, re living the stale of a kiss.

I die a thousand deaths to resurrect the sorrow of love's bliss."

yes that's exactly the tone I was going for when I wrote it! thanks for reading:)
This was a very sad, painful piece yet so beautiful and captivating in that love and death are so closely related in that when losing love this pain like no other takes over your being and when dealing with the death of a loved one a similar agonizing pain lingers in us as we mourn. In dealing with death it is so easy to remember those small, precious moments such as a small kiss and love's bliss....bravo Melecia!!!! Keep up the amazing workl!

I've been down that path. Actually, i am still there, lost behind some thought of mirage.

lying motionless, floating in a lake...my heart persisted

for this angel that once existed.

And I arise at nights, as the light of the moon seizes

You are welcome...:)...............
It sort of had a dark, yet melancholy feel to it. This is a really made out well poem. I have seen poems about love, but rarely poems about deceased love such as this. Overall, great work!
