Scars

Scars

A Poem by Melanie Marie

Killing me softly.
Words stabbing what little is left
Threats contracted and signed with an invisible ink
I've died and reawakened too many times that I've gone astray
The insides of eyelids have become to dark
I just need light
I think I'll keep my eyes open
Yes, for I can see life for what it is and for what it will be.
