The Dark City

The Dark City

A Poem by Daniel_Puyda_2704
"

This was written to VAGUELY describe the overall plot of my current screenplay project.

"

A world shrouded in darkness

A city tortured by war

Its people enslaved by fear

Lost souls with nothing to fight for

Violence runs wild in the streets

Death can be seen out any window

Walking by a corpse is not new

Such is everyone’s tale of woe

Families are torn apart

With no help to call from a phone

While friends perish miles away

And children end up dying alone

But where there is shadow

There will always be light

Where anger and hate must conquer

Hope and love will rise to fight

For two star-crossed souls

Harboring passion in their hearts

Will meet under a banner of peace

And their love will break their war apart

Yes, window and woe are weak rhymes. Sue me. I was in class when I wrote this.

that was really nice. i think that when you write, you have a picture in your mind, or one specific thought, and you try to write about that one thing or lead up to it with a structure you create to background what you really have to say. and if so, you do an incredible job. i hope that makes sense to you. - if im wrong, please correct me.

I know how you feel but some times it's OK. you'll probably just think of something better when you read again later.. good theme though

Uhh....... I..... write. ^_^ Nah, really though. Since I don't want to put my life story down (feel free to ask, I'm a nice guy... so I'm told) I'll just say bits and pieces. Writing screenplays is m.. more..
