Two Birds

Two Birds

A Poem by Daniel_Puyda_2704
"

Out of respect, I will not use the name of the SPECIAL GIRL WHO IS THE ANGEL OF MY LIFE AND I LOVE VERY VERY MUCH!!! I wrote this in a desperate attempt to win her heart over. Probably one of my better poems. ^_^

"

Once upon a time there was a bird

Who accidentally flew into a tree

He wasn’t seriously injured

Or at least not as far as he could see

He stood up and walked it off

In hopes of finding his home

Then at the tip of the horizon

Another bird flew all alone

Unable to resist some small company

The bird flew to the other

And at the top of a large tree

The bird’s heart stopped when he saw her

She had silky smooth feathers

And the most perfect angel eyes

But it was what she hid inside

That was the real surprise

She took notice of him

He tried to keep it cool

She looked at him and gave him a smile

His heart stopped and he fell from the tree, feeling like a fool

She flew after him

To see if he was alright

He had a goofy smile on his beak

As he lay on his back in delight

He awoke from semi-unconsciousness

Unable to think of anything to say

Instead, he gave her a wink

Probably the lamest thing he did today

But she just smiled her heaven’s smile

And thanked him for his gesture

He sighed, thanking God for not screwing up

And being some kind of jester

Soon, they started talking

And flying in the sky as one

From when the sun was highest

And even after the days were done

He knew he had fallen for her

But there was still something scratching at his beak

It seemed as if she were sad somehow

So he asked her if she was alright atop a mountain peak

Tears quickly dripped down her eyes

A sight all too painful to see

He wrapped his wing around her

Being there for her was where he wanted to be

She told him her story

One too grim to say a second time

No words could say how bad he felt

What happened to her was a crime

He wanted to help her

But neither of them saw how

He made it his life goal

But currently, he would have to wait for now

And then one night

Staring at the moon above

All he could do was think about her

He knew he had fallen in love

He raced over to her

Unable to contain his soul’s fire

From where the story goes from here

Is what her heart desires

Adorable! At least the silly bird lived after smackin his head into a tree!
Once a hawk did that in my back yard. I took him to the santuary, but he
died in the died from brain swelling. This poem made me think of that day.
Was so very sad. Anyways, this is a cleverly written poem and I enjoyed it.
Thank you for sharing.
