love-sick scoundrel

love-sick scoundrel

A Poem by melancholy

relentless rover,

why must i captivate such a lone demeanour-

i am bound-binded with desolate armor-

facade amongst my decorative smile-

quiescently kept sullen in the core of an embellished chasten-

where do i dare endeavour-

my zeal wilts a ponderous willow-

to dandle with your charm into peril mischief-

folly the damsel-

my heart fidgets your fables-

where there is no trail to follow-

tramp shammed-

my scarlet cheeks will burn your venture-

wander astray with my fumbling gesture-

These lines bounce around like a pinball -- or mayhaps the neurons firing when desire arises.

Tho' I'm tempted to "fiddle" with lines, a la my editing background, I'm not so sure this chunk 'o verbal charge teetering on the brink of chaos isn't a perfect reflection of the "love-sick scoundrel" encounter.

This poem is also oddly poignant, capturing the veer and dizziness of ANY potential intimate encounter.

One is reminded we are all ships passing in the night, and sometimes there be rocky dangerous shoals.

What an intriquing write. Certainly a interesting relationship unfolds a bit in this poem. Succinct and compelling. Thank you for sharing.

At first I didn't get it, but after I read it a few times I begun to understand what it means.
You weave a beautiful message in quite a peculiar way.
-Nice write-
