my dog is busy dying of cancer

Your more than a dog

your my friend

my comfort

So much more than a dog

you know when I need a hug

you know when I'm cold

Not at all just a dog

your personallity

your caring eyes

your happiness when I get home

 

To me you'll never be just a dog

your my friend

you grew up with me

I'm going to miss you

:( I've been through this, and I know how hard it can be. My Lab was on chemo treatment for six months and we lost him just over a year ago. The pain will not go away, but it will lessen with time. Just focus on making the last of his days as happy as they can be.

It moved me rather easily. It was excellently written and perfectly balanced. It also brought back many wonderful memories of times with my Miniature Schnauzers Rocket and Angel. Both have moved on now but I still miss them very much.

there is no greater love or deeper friendship than that of a beloved dog. they feel your pain, cheer you up, their loyalty is legendary and there is nothing in the world they wouldn't do to protect you. man's best friend indeed! i am sorry about your dog's condition. be there for him with all the love you can muster. nicely penned.
