Chapter 3A Chapter by Meghan Alex
"But why does he let this happen? Why did he almost let me die?" he looks at me with the biggest brown eyes. "He doesn't exist. There is no god," his eyes are cold now.
"But he didn't let you die, D.J. He saved you," I tell him. I pour some more pink sand onto my sticky paper. "No. My grandma saved me. God isn't here Kelly, can't you see?" he closes his eyes and squeezes his eyes and squeezes them shut really tightly. He's trying not to cry. "D.J., listen..." "No! F**k you! I've had enough of your bullshit!" he shouts. "Shut up, D.J.," I hiss. "Why?" his eyes narrow, and he stares at me, a tear escaping from his eye. "They're going to call code, D.J." He shuts up, but it's too late. Joe's at the door. "What's going on?" D.J. balls up his sand art and throws it across the room.
