Chapter OneA Chapter by HyperBunnyOfDOOMOur story begins!Megota, his father, and Starumi
all hovered worriedly around little Fikimi’s bed. Ever since she became paralyzed due to
mysterious circumstances, Fikimi has been able to see the future. She had a
very grave look on her pale features. “Fonin is going to attack today.” She
said in an emotionless, monotone voice. The
three looked at her. Every prediction she had made before had come true. “What
time today?” asked a worried Megota. “I
can’t tell, but very soon.” said the young girl. Megota and Fikimi’s father
rushed out of the room, mumbling something about evacuating the villagers to a
safer place. Megota
kneeled next to his sick sister’s bed and placed a damp cloth on her forehead. “Fikimi,
are you absolutely sure what you saw was true? Maybe it was something else, or
you were just having a nightmare.” Fikimi shook her head. “What I saw is most
definitely going to happen.” Starumi
got up. “We need to leave now, Prince Megota.” he said. “Is it ok if I stay
with my sister a little longer?” asked Megota.
Starumi nodded. I’ll be out the
door if you need me.” “I
need you to leave me behind.” said Fikimi as soon as Starumi was out of
earshot. “I’ll only slow you all down.” “That isn’t true!” Megota exclaimed.
“I’m not going to just leave you here to die!” Fikimi looked down. “But what if
I want to die?” “Megota held his little sister. “It must be painful to be in
your condition…” he whispered. Fikimi nodded. “Please just leave me behind…”
said she said. “No, I can’t do that!” cried Megota. “It’s better this way…” said the bed ridden
girl. Megota
slowly stood up. “I know I’m going to regret this later if I survive.” he said,
tears streaming from his green eyes. “I guess this is goodbye…” “You must leave
now.” said Fikimi. Her voice was cracking. Megota walked toward the door,
looking back at his sister as if he was going to change his mind. “Just go!”
Fikimi yelled, her eyes filled with tears. Megota ran out the door, he hated
seeing his sister so sad. As
Megota ran out the door, he almost ran into Starumi. All Starumi needed was one
look at Megota’s tear stained face to know exactly what had happened. He wrapped the younger boy into a tight hug.
Megota sobbed into Starumi’s shoulder. “I want to save her but she doesn’t want
to be saved!” Starumi
stroked Megota’s hair, and whispered comforting words into his ear. “We need to find your father now and help him
evacuate the villagers.” Starumi said when Megota seemed to be calmed down
enough to function. “But
what about Fikimi?” Megota cried. “She’s made up her mind, she wants to go to a
happier place where she can run and play and be free.” said Starumi. Megota immediately understood. Megota
looked back at his sister’s door with sad eyes, suddenly Starumi grabbed him by
the hand and ran. “I’m sorry, Megota.” he said as they ran. Megota was silent. Suddenly
there was a bright flash of light, temporarily blinding Megota. He fell
backwards stunned. Everything after that went by in a blur. He heard someone
call out his name. Could it have been Starumi? He never found out. KA-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ⟚⟚⟚⟚⟚⟚ Megota
jolted awake. His head was throbbing, and he was lying in a pile of rubble.
Everything around him was either on fire or had already completely burned down.
He felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder. He put his hand on his shoulder and
brought it back, covered in blood. Megota winced. In the distance he could see
a glass pedestal, which had not shattered during the explosion because it
contained the most prized possession in the entire kingdom, the legendary ruby. The
legendary ruby has enough power to completely destroy, rebuild, then re-
destroy the entire universe. If Fonin got a hold of it, the world would end for
sure. Megota
took the glass cover off of the pedestal and removed the precious jewel. “Why
hello there, Prince Megota.” Said a not so friendly voice behind him. Megota
slowly turned to meet the sharp blue gaze of Fonin. “What’s that you’re holding
in your hand? Could it be….the legendary ruby?” Megota opened his mouth to
reply, but Fonin cupped his hand over it so he couldn’t speak. “You don’t need
to answer. I already know what it is. “Now I suggest you hand it over to me
before things get really nasty.” Fonin ran
his hand down Megota’s face. “It would be such a pity to have to destroy
someone as beautiful as you” he said. Megota trembled. He knew how dangerous
and sadistic Fonin was. Fonin could come up with several creative ways to make
his death as long and painful as possible. Megota backed away from the tall
blonde villain. Fonin drew closer to Megota and held a cool, sharp knife to his
throat. “This should be fun.” He smirked. Fonin
stroked Megota’s face in a mock display of affection. Megota squeezed his eyes shut, wishing to be
anywhere but there. He gripped the ruby tightly. Megota
opened his eyes when he heard Fonin gasp and drop the knife. Fonin’s facial expression had gone from an
evil smirk to blatant shock. The torn up burning world around Megota started to
fade into a red light that was so bright that Megota reclosed his eyes. Before he knew it, he wasn’t able to breathe. Opening his eyes once again, he saw that he
was surrounded by a seemingly endless ocean of water. He tried to swim to the
surface, but only sunk down further. The
blast thing Megota saw before losing concieseness was a pair of dark brown
eyes. © 2011 HyperBunnyOfDOOM |
