Let's Be Honest

Let's Be Honest

Let's be honest.
I don't really love you.
You make a nice placeholder
For that knight in shining armor,
But that face will never do.

Let's be honest.
The more I strip and uncover myself,
The more I disguise my true intent.
Darling, the time for soul mates came and went.
I have heaps of masks upon the shelf.

Let's be honest.
Conquering the world is fun,
But being superman is child's play.
I'd rather stand amongst the fray
And wait until cool chaos has won.

Let's be honest.
I could sing and dance with grace,
Strut perfectly and draw all eyes,
But with every step grows my despise
For the men who never see my face.

Let's be honest.
You say a relationship is finding common traits,
But since when has that meant spouting praise
Of worthless attempts at glory days?
You fall willingly for a woman who manipulates.
