Doubts & DemiseA Poem by Meghan Mercier--I originally wrote this poem in 2012, a year in which I was most definitely going through a darker phase and was struggling to deal with a lot of misdirected anger and confusion.Silver wings painted on her back She never was one to step on a crack. Overexposed to the toxicity, She’s just waiting to feel the electricity. Now she’s scorched from head to toe, All painted in the afternoon glow. Begins to fade into the night, Will she eternally rise to be holy and bright? Heaven above is full of s**t; How have so many come to believe in it? Someone who believed your life should be spared- Wouldn’t all minds be at ease? Instead we’re enslaved by endless hypocrisy, Bound and gagged by the clutches of jealousy.
Why do you let us throw the world to shame? Won’t you forgive us of our daily sins, Pull out your whip and destroy our shins? Will you release your grasp around our necks? End the paranoia of unplanned checks? Reverse the infiltration of your corruption to save the world from its
fate: Mass destruction. © 2016 Meghan MercierReviews
