Drunken Heartache

Drunken Heartache

A Poem by Megan R. Toy
"

After a horrible break-up, I decided to let the heartache flow...

"
I’ve been drinking all day
to keep the pain at bay.
But no matter how much
It still seems to stay.

You know I was hopin’
that you’d give a call.
Crack that beer open,
but still I am small.

Once I am sober,
I’ll feel it again.
It’s really over,
and we’re not even friends.

Very nice work of handling the end of a relationship. Been there done that. Didn't help. But a headache does distract the mind somewhat to the loss of love.
