ribsA Poem by megan rivera
you've only seen my skin
but there is so much more underneath you've never seen the ribs that lie beneath the vines that wrap around my spinal cord to the butterflies in-between the heart that beats for you to the twenty-four ribs that you've never seen i cannot express the way my ribs hurt when you make me laugh so badly and you have yet to see the saltwater in my eyes when you hurt me so badly the ribs help structure my organs but you structure my mind not exactly my brain but the feelings that float around inside -megan rivera
