Did you forget?

Did you forget?

A Poem by Megan Danielle Kelley

did you forget, all the times we shared?
did you forget, how you used to care?
did you forget, all the late night calls on the phone?
When i was scared & all alone
did you forget all the notes?
I remember, I believed every word you wrote
I remember, when you looked at me
like i was all that you could see
I remember crying to you
& there was nothing you could do
but tell me that it’s going to be okay
& that was all you had to say
just talking to you made me smile
too bad it only lasted for a while
you moved on with your life
& I was left here in strife
you said for ever and always
it was 3 months 2 weeks & a few days
That doesn’t seem like forever
Forever has no end, ever
lately , I’ve let it get me down
Keeping my mouth in a frown
wondering, do you think of me at all?
did you purposely make me fall?
& did you forget to catch me?
It’s so hard to see
Why any of this would happen
it’s got my heart thrashin
& aching
boy can’t you see my heart is breaking?
Shattering into little slivers
I burned all the pictures
you’re just a bad memory
something to make me unhappy
but it wont last
you’ll become my past
you never really were “The One”
but now I'm done.

I can truly relate to this very poem. I love how you describe vividly your words. They are all visualize how I was once felt a long time ago about someone I used to love.

Thank you for sharing!

Emotional, heartfelt write. I've had one or two relationships like this also, sadly. Nicely done!
