The Stars

The Stars

A Poem by Megan Blanc
"

A poem about being in love with the stars

"
What a disappointment it was to fall in love with the stars as a child, and then learn how much math it takes to get to them

Some of us get to them

But those who can’t, dream.

We write poems about how they are life and love and beauty.

We paint murals to depict what we dream they are.

We find starlight in our lives

In fireflies

In lights

In our lovers eyes

We promise those lovers the sun, the moon and the stars.

We promise or children that they can touch the stars

And they can

The lights we yearn for every warm summer night in a field of tall grass is the same light that we feel in our lovers hands and our children’s laugh.

We are made of stars

Our bodies burn with their fire

We touch the stars the day we are born

We are the stars

I have taken an astronomy class and I have been fascinated with the stars for the longest time!

With errors, I see spaces that are needed between "them" and "but" as well as one other error with a line almost halfway down after the words "lights." That's all that I found, other than that, the poem is fine to me!

Amazing poem!
