School

School

A Poem by meganelizabeth23

Brick walls,
Through the open doors to the jungle,
Hidden secrets fill every corner,
Fresh fish,
Sophomores,
Juniors, and seniors,
Story telling,
Listening for bits of unknown knowledge,
Doors to ditch and escape,
Ceiling tiles to paint,
Hunger comes then it's off to the food room,
The Cafeteria, full of wild animals

I like the way this poem does not simply tell a story but gives glimpses of school that everyone can relate to and appreciate. Everyone has experienced "hidden secrets fill every corner" either one's own secrets or others' secrets, but they are there. Great poem!

Wonderful poem about school. It brought memories back for me. You captured a day at school in this poem.
