Autumn TreeA Poem by MashSaadAll alone against the misty sky I stood tall and stoic My leaves shed, as was the want of the season I let them fall, stoic as I was, knowing come back, they will But as the seasons went on without me The world celebrated time and growth It celebrated life. While I just stood there, waiting for new leaves Knowing that come back, they will…
Through the mist I began to see All the change going on around me/ see a life that has gone on without me I tried to adapt and I tried to grow I realize I had been waiting too long My roots, once my supports, were now my shackles
Now I want to- NEED to- break free But all the numbness has made me weak I wish to go back Try and call out to my leaves To come back to me But Time, the merciless witch she is, Keeps moving forward In spite of all my struggles Not a second do I gain. © 2013 MashSaadReviews
