Saving Neglect

Saving Neglect

A Poem by Michelle Wiseman
"

Rough draft

"
Fill up his ego
So he won't hurt you today
He hates himself
So you have to pay
Neglected
Judged
Beat on by thugs
Imagine growing up NEVER KNOWING love?
If only he had been given one chance
Someone to show him something more than violence
If only he never had to run away
If only someone loved him
Someone wanting him to stay
Poverty, drugs, and nobody that cared
Surrounded by beasts
Growing up scared
No matter how horrible or sinister they are..
Just think them a toddler covered in scars
Everyone starts out a pure innocent being
This monster you judge is tragedies bringing
Beasts
raising monsters
Raising thugs
Raising w****s
when's the cycle gonna end
Our communities are the war
We hear a woman getting beat we turn away
Let down the shades
What if instead we went in and fought for her
She'd realize that she's saved...
And then when she's pregnant
and having herself a babe
She understands there's another way,
She cares...
And He's safe...
