Age

old wisdom

Now that I'm old, 

My bones feel the cold. 

As a small child, 

I thought aging wild.

Something unclear,

something I should fear. 

but,

Now that I'm old,

my years are pure gold.

when in our youth

we were bullet proof. 

In that short time, 

my self-love was crime. 

but,

Now that I'm old, 

my wisdom --tenfold. 

so, 

When I near end,

years, gladly, I spend.

A fine wine improves with age. As we age we have a wealth of experience and knowledge at hand. There is nothing to fear about getting older, but tell that to the youngsters and they won't agree with you. I have an old soul, and the body isn't so spring chicken anymore either.
