Why don't we love our parents?

She asked me,"Devesh, I have one question. The question is that everyone says that no one forgets their first love but they forget their parents. So many people asked this question to me. Can you give me the answer to this question?

I told her,"Just tell me one thing that What do you do when one guest comes to your home several time. Do you give the respect which you give first or second time.?

She told,"No, I don't as like first or second time."

I asked,"Then, What do you do?"

She told,"I behave with them as I behave like others. Means I behave with them simply not like that they are special to me."

I asked,"That is the reason we don't love our parents so much as we must love them."

She asked,"I didn't understand"

I told,"We know or feel that parents will with us forever but friends will not live with us forever. We take parents temporary. We get attached to others because as humans, we love to meet new people and forget old people. When the new people become old then we live them and try to meet new people. And it goes on. We know about our parents' so many things. We know their weakness and strength. But we always touch their weakness instead of touch their strong part. We love our parents less because in our mind we have made that parents will live with us forever. So we should give importance to others.''

She said,"Thanks, Devesh I got my answer. Now I got that why people love their parents less."
