Beauty For Ashes

A sprinkle of fallen dust over the fresh fallen dew
The inner hope to claim something new
With fallen debris all along the pathway
There is beauty for ashes amidst the day
Those solemn promises that we made in the dark have come to light
A great scope of brevity along the pike
Shadows block the true intentions of what were searching for
To calm our nerves within to begin to sing again
We sat silently amidst the duration of the day
A solemn moment in which to bow the knee to pray
The crust of the bisquit is still the apostrophe
We look at nature exposed yet only through a fine lens
Shelter lies dormant amidst it's beckoning plough
Through a duration of a dream there lies a different scene
A challenge to be free is a question of time
It's beauty for ashes enough to grasp it's magic
The sun will close in on the vast resistance of the day
If there's a rose it will bare a thorn
Check your hearts to embrace the love from heaven up above
The time is closing in on a quest to find the lasting love
