![]() Not everything is as it seemsA Story by meaningfulstory![]() Just a short story that describes the life of a boy named Henry![]() There was a 15 year old boy. This boy was called Henry.
Henry always seemed to be a very happy guy, always making people laugh always
with a smile on his face. But there was a dark side to Henry... Henry had lived
an extremely hard life. The first hard experience he had was when he was six.
His mom and dad were going on holiday for a week and left Henry with his uncle.
Henry never liked his uncle with good reason because all he ever did was drink
and smoke. The first night Henry was very tired so he just went to lay in bed;
his uncle entered the room. Henry asked if he was okay and his uncle just
stared and smiled. Henry just ignored him and tried to sleep but within seconds
of turning over Henry gets dragged out of his bed and it was no other than his
uncle who dragged him out. By this point Henry was very scared and tears were
rolling down his face but this had no effect on his uncle oh no. He just
carried on hitting Henry and it got beyond just getting hit. After Henry's
uncle was finished with him he just threw Henry back onto his bed. This carried
on until Henry was 10. By the time Henry was 10 he had learned to hate his
uncle with a burning passion. So one night at a party Henry lost it. He started
to collect all of the poisons in the house. When Henry was finished he found
his uncles drink and spiked it with all of the poison he had found. Henry's
uncle died that night with failing organs. Henry was happy for the first time
in his life. This is when Henry realised that his life was going to get better from
here on out. He was wrong. When Henry joined his secondary school people
started to bully him. Henry didn't know how to handle this until one day he
found that he could cut himself. Henry was only eleven when he first cut
himself with a drawing pin. As the bullying had no sign of ending henry kept on
progressing through bigger and sharper blades. People would not see Henry's
cuts as they were on his leg. Henry was so bad that he would have to bring a
spare pair of trousers to school with him just in case he bent his leg too far
and his cuts would open up. Henry managed to survive the first three years of
secondary school only because a girl named Ellie had been there for him and
loved him and Henry thought he had found the girl for him so in year ten Henry
asked Ellie if she wanted to be in a relationship with him. She said yes. As
time went on Ellie had helped Henry to stop with all of the self-harm. Henry
trusted Ellie with his life and he told her everything. She was the first
person to ever find out that Henry was raped when he was younger. Henry lived a
very happy life now: Until the first few days of year eleven. In the first few
days of year eleven Henry had started to get suspicious of Ellie. She started
hanging around with other guys. This didn't bother Henry as he trusted her so
much but then he saw that she had changed. Not for the better either. Rumours
about Ellie started to circulate around school that she had been cheating on
him with a guy. Kane. Henry believed these rumours so he asked Ellie and sure
enough she said the rumours were false so Henry said okay and believed her. As
the days started to progress people had apparently started to see Kane and
Ellie passionately kissing in public and Henry let this go over his head until
one of his friends showed him a picture of Ellie and Kane kissing. This is the
moment when Henry's heart truly shattered. His world had just stopped spinning.
Henry was calm until he got home from school. As soon as he got home he pulled
out his blade and cut. Not cutting how he usually did either. He cut and cut
until he could physically cut no more. His room was covered with blood. Henry
jumped in the shower hoping that his leg would stop bleeding. It did not. The
water was turning red as it hit his leg and when Henry got out of the shower he
sat and thought of what to do with his life now and he sat there and thought
for hours. He came to a solution. He would kill himself the next day jumping to
his death. Henry was ready to go but then he checked his phone just before he
was going to embark on his final journey. It was a god send. A girl Henry had
always wanted to love had messaged him. Henry never dared to talk to her before
this day as he thought he would be rejected. He wasn't. All they would do is
sit and talk for hours on end. But funnily enough Henry got over Ellie pretty
fast and started to latch on to the new girl. He told her everything. This girl
had become the centre of his life, the only thread of rope left to stop him
from falling. This girl’s name was Abbie. The pair became very attached. But
then came the day Henry died. Henry had died but hanging himself because Ellie
had said that she hates him so much and that she hopes he dies. Henry did what
she wanted. Henry is no longer here to bring a smile to anybody’s face. Abbie
was distraught that the boy she had only just learned to love had gone. Henry
thought that this was the only long term solution to end his pain and
suffering. No longer will Henry have to think about his uncle or the times
which hurt him most. Before Henry killed
himself he had caved into his chest where his heart is. He carved a heart with
a crack in it. This is what grabbed people’s attention. The day of Henry’s
funeral is here. The people who bullied him have attended. Why? They are
attending to show their respects to Henry, only now when it is too late that
their bullying had played a part in Henry’s suicide. Henry’s parents are here
as well. They cannot believe that their baby boy has been taken away from them
so early. I was the only other person Henry could trust. Who am I you may ask?
I am Henry’s best friend. He told me everything, when he was feeling down I
would meet him so he could spill his heart out to me. We had so many fun times
together me and Henry. I loved him like a brother but now a part of me is gone.
In Henry’s memory I will be raising awareness about sexual, physical and mental
assault and bullying. I know that from now my life without Henry will be
incomplete but I will have to tackle life head on and face all of its
challenges. I promised Henry that if he went I would go as well, but instead of
doing that I am going to make him proud and never give up like he would always
tell me. I love and miss you Henry R.I.P .
Henry’s best friend went on to become a successful entrepreneur. Every
year he would donate millions of pounds to charities that were about raising
awareness for bullying and domestic violence. © 2014 meaningfulstory |
