The Game

The Game

A Poem by Amelia Falcone

Invisible eyes trail in the darkness,
Stalking, no one is safe.
Alone there is no haven,
No shelter in the night.
He creeps along the walls,
Hidden in the shadows, his ally.
Without the light to guide,
There is no where to run.
He hears the beat of his victims heart,
Pounding out of control.
Delights in the fear,
Rippling off the skin.
He tortures with his favorite game,
He the hunter, we the prey.
Never has he lost,
The unconquerable champion.
Death is following me,
Its my turn to play.

Actually Mary Ann, the first thing that came to mind until I read the last line was "The Hunger Games".

This was really cool to read...I kind of though of "him" as life.!!! Which trails into a lot of other thoughts that I really don't feel like typing...but I really enjoyed this...lol

This is an interesting write!!! My thought at first was supernatural... Vampire? As I read through.. but then I was thinking this could apply to humans as well. That makes it even more creepy! :O
I haven't come across dark ink as of late... very well done! It engaged my imagination... a good read. :)
