Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, Mirror

A Poem by Save the Trees, Save the World
"

This one is to hard to discribe....so just read

"

Mirror, mirror on the wall

Mirror, mirror on the wall

Do you see me?

I’m the girl who sits alone

Can you help me?

My tears just won’t dry

Can you save me?

These wounds aren’t healing

Mirror, mirror on the wall

I hate the girl who stares back at me

She looks weak and scared

Fat and ugly

No one cares

I guess they don’t understand me

Mirror, mirror on the wall

He told me I’m beautiful today

He took me home and wrapped me in kisses

I have my own dirty secrets now

I feel pretty tonight

He is all I need

Mirror, mirror on the wall

How did this happen to me?

I took that test

Positive it read

I wasn’t scared; he would still love me

I was wrong

Mirror, mirror on the wall

I’m all alone again

Forced to raise a child by myself

I’m scared

Mirror, I’m a failure

Mirror, I have no one

I cant read any more:s

I need a Prozac, a warm bath, and some nature sounds:

You are wonderful really, at conveying all the "dirty little secrets" in the world. No one wants to deal with these issuse, no one thinks things like this will ever happen to them, but they do, and they hurt, and you are a maverick at portraying the emotions felt by those who experience it firsthand.

I love the repetition in this, and the voice it reads in, innocent, downtroden, lost. Its sooooooo sadddd!!!

But still an awesome right.

Brilliant.

WOW. I absolutely love this poem. It's very heartfelt and really brings the reader in. The talking to the mirror is really brilliant, bringing inhuman objects to life.

this is really good ! There is a fairy tale of horrific reality in this poem that creates a shockwave into the lives of your children if not handled correctly. As Dani says. We need to break the evil cycle of hate and raise our children into lovers of life by living in love . Great piece!

Oh my. OH MY!

This is one of the most heartbreaking pieces I have read.
Truly...
Raw honest emotion of what
goes on inside,
and goes unnoticed by so many.
You have expressed this
self torment brilliantly!

Now I wish I could wave some
magic wand and make that mirror
say... "but you're the fairest of them all"!

We need to start loving ourselves and stop this
self hatred..!
Its poison passes into our children... and so on ..
and so forth...
hence our world today.
If only it were so easy to stop...

Brilliant work! Much to ponder...
