fourteen yearsA Poem by MaiaI dare you to read this.i've only lived fourteen years but i've seen the wars, the blood, the tears i've only lived fourteen years and i've felt the pain, the numb, the cage i've only lived fourteen years and I've known lost lives, lost dreams, lost words i've only lived fourteen years i've heard the screams of a mother losing a child, I've heard the weeping of a boy who lost his way and i'm just a girl who wants to live without the dying and i've lived fourteen long years of knowing people are dying while they're sighing i'm just a girl a lonely girl who wants to kiss a boy, dance a measure, maybe one day find buried treasure. these fourteen years I've been alive i've learned to cry without the sound I've learned to bleed without the blood I've learned to hug without the touch looking in the mirror i see a girl who has scars i see a girl who cant be touched i see a girl who's afraid of dark fourteen years ive been alive but i dont just want to survive. look me in the eye and tell me im too young to understand and tell me i think that i cant die because the truth is I know the Truth.
