A heart of compassion

A heart of compassion

A Poem by Michael Corkill
"

This poem is from 2008. don't really know how to describe it. Didn't mean for it to come out so preachy, but it is what it is. It all comes from a heart of compassion. That would be....Love of course.

"

 My words for you

are tried and true.

Born in a heart of compassion

Yet you call them a lie

and still you deny.

To love you’ve become an assassin

You slice with your knife

and taken it’s life,

with words of  mistrust and deceit.

To all who can hear,

heed these words with great fear.

Do not toy with pride and conceit.

Let me just say,

in an unselfish way.

“Love is an undying pleasure.”

So take all you can,

and forever then stand.

To fight for life’s greatest treasure

To love is to live,

and to live is to give.

Reside in loves greatest power.

Then give all you own,

so the love you have sown

will grow like a beautiful flower,
