RISE

It's about a woman in an abusive relationship and how she finally stands up for herself.

She never met a man like him before,

Slowly losing her heart with each passing day.

Everything seemed too good to be true,

Her eyes glistening with unconditional love for him.

Came the first blow during one of their big fights,

She grit her teeth and forgave him in the name of love.

Came the second on an other day knocking her against the wall,

He stood over her with an evil smirk on his face.

Came the third one day, but this time she stood up and squared up to him,

Making sure he realised how vile of a creature he was.

She staggered along confused not knowing what the future held for her,

But she let a wry smile play along her face knowing she was ready for whatever the future was lining up for her.
