Loyalty ForgottenA Poem by Michael Opoku-AddoIt was such a lovely spring day, on the last day in may. 2 best friends were out for a walk, bonding, laughing, having a nice talk, when a beautiful girl walked passed them, looking fine, both boys thought to themselves, she is mine. They didn't want to fight, that wasn't the idea, but in front of her they didn't feel any fear. Not from their mother, father, or each other, stop them now? You better not bother.
They walked right up to her, one said, " You look lost. Hi, my name's Ed." She replied, "Hi, i'm jane, i'm new to town, my family is always moving, because my dad is a clown." Ed said, "Clowns, yeah, I know all about them, my friend Matt is a joker with the heart of a gem." Matt had been stepped on, he couldn't allow that, Ed got a punch from the anger that was in Matt. Ed had just lost his one and only mate, and Jane had just left, she could have been his date.
In conclusion, remember where your loyalties lie, and remember them quick, before your friendships die. Ed took his friendship with Matt for granted, ripped from the foundation on which it was planted. They agreed to never make a fool of each other, so after that incident they never spoke to one another. Ed is still remorseful for what he said that day, on that warm spring evening of may. © 2012 Michael Opoku-AddoAuthor's Note
