Queen of Yellow LightsA Poem by Matthew CloughF**k,
she mutters, as
the green burns out, and
the sun starts to rise, blinding
the eyes of the weary.
S**t,
she murmurs, as
the setting sun fades, a
bold red twilight explodes, and
her foot fumbles for the brake.
Tomorrow,
she sighs, watching
the cars speed by, her future in the rearview mirror, she
will smash the accelerator at dawn. © 2014 Matthew CloughReviews
