A Poem by Matthew Clough

Our eyes

they met

they met

with a fasssst

splaSH!

in the style

of rain Kissing

pavement.

Lovers

they say

time slows

to a lazy

c r  a   w    l

in those

seconds

of blissss.

But no,

not at all

for time

it went

right on

t . i . c . k . i . n . g

as we

past.

And you

the girl

in the

yellow sundress

on a tuesday

in january

were goneeee

like yesterday.

Our hearts

they met

they met

with a b e a t t t

like the tap

on timpani

rOund & full

buh dum.
