Empty Promises

Empty Promises

A Poem by MCKryger

Its funny how you demand respect
Like respect comes with birth
You don't deserve it.
I used to respect you
But that respect depleted
With every empty promise
You get angry when called unreliable
But the truth is
thats a nice word for what you are
I wish I could cut you off
But every time you make an empty promise
I believe it.

Such a common mistake we make, isn't it. I have people in my life like this. I think you captured that mind set quite well in this piece. Very relatable poetry. Well penned.
